One of the most important sections of the updated Technology Plan is the Evaluation Process section. The important of this section, is the power behind it. This section clearly states the process in which one would take in order to evaluate and/or modify any change that has be created as a product or reflection of the updated Technology Plan. It is only through these evaluations and modifications that future change will occur.
I feel this section also supports the overall tone and approach to change I hope the Technology Plan will provide its users/readers. Change is at the center of the Technology Plan. Change in order to create the best and most appropriate learning environment for students in the 21st century. I want this Technology Plan to bring about evaluations and discussions in regards to the use and integration of technology within my school.
Spencer Johnson, the author of Who Moved My Cheese, stated "noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come." It was within a course through my participation in the Educational Technology Program at Loyola University that I read Johnson's Who Moved My Cheese, and this quote has always come to mind when I am discussing or partaking a change both personally and professionally. It was very important to me that a reflection of the idea supported by these words was within the Technology Plan. I wanted the users/readers to understand that the Technology Plan is suppose to be an initiator of change, and it is important to notice/evaluate small changes as they come and prepare for the larger change that is the ultimate goal.
It is through evaluating a given change that people are able to both understand and support the goal of the change. That is approach and attitude I hope the updated Technology Plan inspires among the faculty and staff within my school. I also hope the Evaluation Process section administrators and outside stakeholders develop an understanding of the importance of evaluation both small changes and larger changes brought about as a result or reflection of the Technology Plan.
